My name is Michelle Avila, and I am honored to serve as the principal of O'Day Short Elementary School. While I am new to the ODS community, I bring with me over 11 years of experience as a principal within the Fontana Unified School District.

It is both a privilege and a responsibility to uphold the proud legacy of the Short family—a legacy rooted in inclusivity and resilience so that we strive for success for all students. My foremost priority is to foster a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment where all students, staff, and families feel valued and supported.

I believe that strong relationships are the foundation of a thriving school community. I am here to listen, collaborate, and work alongside you to ensure that every student has the opportunity to grow, learn, and shine. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you may have.

We have many exciting events and opportunities planned for the upcoming school year, and I look forward to meeting each of you and working together to make this a wonderful year for our students.
